Central Park Sunday

By johnny5alive

This summer blew by, like last year, like the year before that, and like every year in my adult life. In time before this one ended, I closed out this summer with a beautiful picnic in the park. One thing I’ve not done ever since I moved here, is do a picnic in Central Park. But yesterday, on a whim and motivated to show my parents + aunt/uncle a good time, my wife and I packed an assortment of cheese, bottles of wine and bubbles, and led the family up to the Great Lawn in the park. Central park isn’t about the size, though it is huge. It’s how it transplants you from concrete jungle to a lush, green forest in a matter of minutes. Every New Yorker looks to Central Park for a getaway if they can’t make it entirely out of the city. And yet, with the thousands of people in the park, you can always find a quiet spot. Everyone had a great time yesterday. We drank, talked, my uncle napped, took pictures, and just soaked it all in underneath clear blue skies and minimal humidity.
